Ammonium sulfate \ SOA \ AS is an inorganic salt with a number of commercial uses.

The primary use of ammonium sulphate is as a fertilizer for alkaline soil. Quick release &  fast acting. Easy hygroscopic and caking. Used as seed fertilizer, base dressing& top dressing directly. Particularly suitable for soil lack of sulfur, low chlorine tolerance crops, sulfurphilic crops. Suitable for the rice seedling, the growth of tea, grass & vegetables.

In the soil the ammonium ion is released and forms a small amount of acid, lowering the pH balance of the soil, while contributing essential nitrogen for plant growth.
